Autism Resource Team

Northwest Area Education Agency has an Autism Resource Team. This resource team provides consultation to schools, families and community supports. They provide educational and behavioral support for schools and families through ongoing training. They partner with building level teams to provide interventions and assessment. They work cooperatively with the Siouxland Autism Society Support Group to provide monthly parent education and social training for students in kindergarten through high school.

The resource team consists of special education consultants, psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists and parent educator coordinators supporting districts throughout Northwest AEA.

Their mission is to keep current with best practices within the field of autism spectrum disorder and to provide training, consultation and resources for schools, families and communities.
